The Luquillo Soles got a marvelous performance from pitcher Ramón Chávez. The right-hander kept the Aguas Buenas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Luquillo victory at Parque de Aguas Buenas. In 9 innings, Chávez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. At 75-80, Luquillo is in second place in the Liga Betances Noreste.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Adrián Parra? The Luquillo center fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Soles on top, 3-0. For the game, Parra had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Luquillo manager Héctor García.
