Galanes Get Close Win Over Martilleros, 2-1
|
Ciales and Vega Alta duked it out and the Galanes came out victorious.
In a tight tilt between the Ciales Galanes and the Vega Alta Martilleros, José Peralta was the deciding factor. The Ciales left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Peralta, now 22-26, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 1 run.
The Galanes got a gift in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the game tied, 1-1, Álvaro Hernández reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-1, Ciales.
"I went after the hitters," said Peralta. "No pussyfooting around."
The win puts the Galanes at 74-86, while the Martilleros drop to 71-89.
