With 2-0 Win, Acropolitanos Improve to 81-78
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Manati Acropolitanos and Isabela Quesiteros.
The Manati Acropolitanos beat the Isabela Quesiteros, 2-0. Manati pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Roberto Hernández led the way. In 8.2 innings, Hernández surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Raúl Marín finished the game for Manati and earned his 10th save.
Manati used the timely hitting of Álvar Lumbreras to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Acropolitanos on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Hernández.
At 81-78, the Acropolitanos find themselves in third place in the Liga Hostos Norte.
