Estadio Armando Sandoval was host to some intense drama.

Evan Beattie did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Anasco Matadioses from being beaten, 9-8, to the Toa Baja Jinetes at Estadio Armando Sandoval. Beattie was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Aimar Balderas claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-0.

The Estadio Armando Sandoval crowd went wild in the bottom of the fifth when Miguel Pabón, who finished 4th in the LH in runs with 114 last year, won the game for Toa Baja with a 2-run single. Pabón went 2-5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once in the contest.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Pabón.

Toa Baja goes to 18-11.
