Cotorras Get No Resistance from Valencianos in 9-0 Beat-Down
The Rio Grande Cotorras shut out the Juncos Valencianos, 9-0, behind the strong pitching of Carmelo Castillo. Castillo surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 14.

Following the last out, Castillo appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Juncos manager Roberto Calvo, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken left-hander as the clubs left the field. Castillo's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.

The Valencianos skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Cotorras press conference, Castillo confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.

"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Castillo said.

"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Rio Grande manager Prisco Aguilera added.

This year, Castillo has a 34-8 record with a 0.96 ERA in 39 starts.
