A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Salinas Pescadores and Lajas Marcianos.

The Salinas Pescadores topped the Lajas Marcianos, 7-1, with left fielder Palamedes Moreno playing a big role. Moreno went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Pescadores in the win. Efraín Calderón got the win, improving to 22-16. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 8 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1.

With Salinas leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Moreno hit a cutter from Pascual Cruz for a run-scoring triple. It was his 24th triple of the season and put the Pescadores ahead, 3-1.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Moreno.

The Pescadores, at 69-84, sit in second place in the Liga Betances Metro Sur.
