Coquis Deal Rincon 5-2 Defeat

Not everyone stuck through the 34-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Starting pitcher Fernando Fontánez was a major factor in the 5-2 Caguas Coquis triumph over the Rincon Ingenieros. Fontánez, now 8-11, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 0, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Kane Hitchcock dealt the Ingenieros a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with the bases loaded and Caguas leading 3-1, Hitchcock hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single.
"Fernando was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Caguas manager Rafael Piña.
The Coquis are now 55-95.
