Coliseo Atlético del Oeste hosted a real pitchers' duel.

In a low-scoring tilt between the Mayaguez Capitanes and the Culebra Tortugas, 37-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Bellenger was the difference-maker. The Mayaguez right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The win was credited to 22-year old right-handed pitcher Asdrúbal Perla in relief. His record improves to 7-1. Enrique Rodríguez took the loss.

Telégono Valdez had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the eighth. The Mayaguez third baseman came through with a run-scoring single to put Mayaguez in front, 2-1.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Valdez told the Mayaguez Times.

Mayaguez is now 82-69, while Culebra is 65-86.
