The Gurabo Tainos knocked off the Quebradillas Corsarios, 4-1, in Liga Hostos action at Campo de los Corsarios. Gurabo pitcher and Carolina, Puerto Rico, native Nuño González had an outstanding performance. González yielded 1 run over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 10-13. Gurabo is now 71-76, 4 games up in the Liga Hostos Valle del Turabo.
Gurabo used the timely hitting of Simón Fraire to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tainos on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
