The Ponce Senores and Barranquitas Ilustres completed their game despite the rain.

The Ponce Senores locked up a win at Estadio de los Ilustres, knocking off the Barranquitas Ilustres, 4-2. On the mound for Ponce was left-hander Tomás Sánchez. He played a major role in the triumph. Sánchez got the win, improving to 20-16. He gave up 11 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Ponce used a well-timed hit by José Pizano to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Senores ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Ponce manager Mariano Guerra. "It's usually not just one thing."

Ponce raised its record to 86-63 with the win.
