Altamirano Blanks Greeneville, 4-0 Wednesday, July 19th , 2006 Bristol hurler Carlos Altamirano put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Greeneville Astros with a 4-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 1 hit with 11 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Greeneville manager Gene Ratliff told reporters after the game. Altamirano has started 4 times this year, pitched 34.1 innings, fanned 35 batters and walked 11. His current record is 4 wins and 1 loss with a 1.05 ERA. |
