GULF Top Batter Trophy Won by Rodas Saturday, September 1st , 2001 The #1 hitter in the Gulf Coast League in August was GCL left fielder Tony Rodas. He was selected as the Batter of the Month. Rodas starred with a .341 batting average, 12 home runs and 26 RBIs. For the season Rodas is currently batting .333 with 21 home runs and 49 RBIs. In 56 games he has reached base at a .424 rate and scored 40 runs to date. |
