Marlins Heading to Round 2 Friday, September 5th , 2003 Jose Roman has led his GCL Marlins to a Round 1 victory. GCL's center fielder was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 4-2 and eliminating the GCL Phillies. "See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series." The club advanced to the Round 2 with a 8-2 triumph at Roger Dean Stadium in the deciding game. Roman was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .429 average, as well as 1 home runs and 3 RBI. The GCL Marlins will play against the GCL Orioles in the next round. GCL won their series against the GCL Rangers 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
