Super Swinger -- Wheeler Slams 5 Hits
Monday, August 17th , 2009
Ogden starting pitcher Zack Wheeler had a big day at Lindquist Field against the Great Falls White Sox. The 20-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led to the 12-1 Raptors triumph over Great Falls.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Wheeler said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Zack Wheeler struck out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
In 11 starts this season, Wheeler has compiled a 2-4 record and a 3.79 ERA.
