Eugene Hopeless Against Mascarenas Friday, August 8th , 2003 German Mascarenas blitzed the Eugene Emeralds at Nat Bailey Stadium, pitching the Vancouver Canadians to victory, 2-0. Mascarenas went 9 innings to shut out the Emeralds, striking out 5. "I knew he had it in him, but it's still nice to see him put it all together," said Vancouver manager Bert Campaneris. Mascarenas surrendered 3 hits and no walks in the outing. This year, Mascarenas has chalked up a 3.32 ERA with 1 save.
