Blaze Pilot Aponte Picked as CALL's Best Thursday, September 28th , 2006 An outstanding season by the Blaze garnered their manager Luis Aponte the California League Manager of the Year award for 2006. He led Bakersfield to a 92-48 record this year and a first place finish in the California League North. Even so, Aponte seemed less than thrilled. "I don't give a darn about the award," he growled to reporters, "I just want this team to win championships!" |
