Red Sox Not Competitive in 8-0 Loss to Fort Myers Friday, July 31st , 1998 Josh Proctor of the Fort Myers Miracle was on fire against the Winter Haven Red Sox at Lee County Field today. He shut them out 8-0 on 5 hits, collecting 4 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Proctor said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that." This season Proctor has a 9-7 record with a 2.35 ERA. |
