Bombers Lose Hernandez for Season Friday, August 12th , 2005 When Greenville reliever Ivan Hernandez was taken out of the game, the crowd at the Bombers-Grasshoppers game went silent as they could tell that it was a serious injury. That was confirmed today by doctors when they revealed that Hernandez had sustained a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament and will be out for about 13 months. To this point in the season he has had no saves. Hernandez has made 48 relief appearances, tossed 55 innings and struck out 56 with a record of 1 win and 4 losses. |
