Rome Braves Mathematically Out of Playoffs
Sunday, July 23rd , 2006
Capping off a campaign that may go down in the record books as one of the all-time worst for the Rome Braves, the team can add "very, very early mathematical elimination from the playoffs" to their list of dubious accomplishments in 2006. The outcome was a virtual certainty for a struggling Braves squad, and they wasted little time getting there.
Rome last appeared in the postseason in 2001. This is their 5th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 12 times in their 15-year history. Rome last won the Round 1 in 2000.
