Bats Shut Out BlueClaws, Gonzalez Winner Monday, April 12th , 2004 Jino Gonzalez shut out the Lakewood BlueClaws, 6-0, on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Greensboro Bats at FirstEnergy Park. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Greensboro skipper Rod Gilbreath said afterward. Gonzalez registered 6 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Lakewood manager Alvaro Arriaga after the defeat. |
