36 Games in a Row for Grove
Friday, August 15th , 2003
And the streak goes on.
Jason Grove collected yet another hit in the 7-4 Wichita Wranglers win over the Diablos at Cohen Stadium. The Wichita center fielder finished 1-for-4 in the game. During an extended batting practice session before the game, the famously hard-working Grove had fielded questions from reporters about his hitting streak, which now sits at 36 games.
"I'm not doing too much special," he said. "I'm well-prepared and I'm just trying to get the bat on the ball and put it in play." Jason Grove struck out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
Currently Grove is batting .314 with 130 hits and 10 home runs. He has knocked in 58 runs and scored 55 times.
