Foppert Spins 1-0 Shutout Wednesday, July 27th , 2005 The Toledo Mud Hens met their match today in Pawtucket hurler Jesse Foppert. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 5-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Toledo skipper Bill Wade said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 1-0 victory, Foppert whiffed 7 and gave up 2 walks. Foppert has made 12 starts, tossed 81 innings, struck out 80 batters and walked 42. His record is 5-6 with a 2.89 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .211 batting average. |
