Catbirds on to League Championship Series Thursday, September 19th , 1991 After their 4-1 win today over the Colorado Springs Buckeyes, the Garland Catbirds will advance to the League Championship Series. Despite coming out on the losing side, the series MVP award went to Colorado Springs catcher Antonio Robert. Robert told a reporter from the Colorado Springs Observer that he was disappointed in the loss, and hopes to be back next year competing for the World Series Garland won the series 3-2. The Garland Catbirds will play against the St. Paul Golden Knights in the next round. St. Paul won their series against the Sangerville 49ers 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
