Golden Knights Heading to League Championship Series Tuesday, September 17th , 1991 Despite the best efforts of Alex Malagon, the St. Paul Golden Knights have won the Division Series. The Sangerville 49ers standout was named series MVP, even though his team lost to St. Paul 4-1 in the final game, and dropped the series 3-1. "Hats off to them, they deserve to be moving on," Malagon said at Ballpark of Sangerville after being awarded his MVP trophy. "I just wish I could trade this trophy in for a chance at the World Series." For their part, the Golden Knights celebrated long into the night, as they are now set to move on to the League Championship Series. The St. Paul Golden Knights don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Colorado Springs Buckeyes - Garland Catbirds series. Garland leads the series 2 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
