Kleinhans Holds 49ers Scoreless Sunday, August 4th , 1991 Shawn Kleinhans was in a mood to talk following the Montgomery Norse contest against the Sangerville 49ers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the 49ers, 4-0. "There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Kleinhans said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again." The right-hander blanked Sangerville on a 1-hitter, allowing 3 walks and racking up 5 strikeouts. This year Kleinhans has compiled a 9-7 mark with a 3.09 ERA. |
