Birkbeck Holds Tigercats Scoreless Sunday, August 18th , 1991 Mike Birkbeck had the Rancho Cucamonga Tigercats dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 3-0 shutout performance for the Paradise Victory. He gave up 6 hits, issued 2 walks and had 4 strikeouts. Rancho Cucamonga hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Aaron Anderson said. "We just never figured him out." Thus far this season, Birkbeck has worked 143.1 innings with 92 strikeouts en route to a 7-7 record and a 2.64 ERA. |
