Dominant Performance by Santana in Florida Win
|
The Chicago Cubs and Florida Marlins delighted fans at Dolphin Stadium.
The Florida Marlins downed the Chicago Cubs, 7-1, at Dolphin Stadium. Stellar pitching by Ervin Santana had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the NL in innings pitched with 211.2, handcuffed his opponent all game. The Florida winning streak has reached 3 games.
Santana, the winner, is now 16-6, after putting the clamps on the Chicago offense. In 7.1 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while collecting 9 Ks.
"Ervin kept his poise and got the job done," said Florida manager Craig Harris. "He was outstanding."
