Brewers Rip Atlanta, 13-0
|
Milwaukee second baseman Silvano Perez was a significant contributor in his team's 13-0 triumph over the Atlanta Braves. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Brewers. Robert Averette, who went 8.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with no runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 7-9. The 5th-place Brewers improved to 65-88.
Milwaukee used a well-timed hit by Yuniesky Betancourt to capture the win. The shortstop socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 6 at-bats, it was important.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Perez.
