New York turned a good performance from starting pitcher Todd Redmond into a 2-0 triumph over the Washington Nationals at RFK Stadium. Redmond picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 17-5. Hiroyuki Iida earned his 33rd save in 38 chances.
Todd Frazier had a direct impact on the outcome. Frazier contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put New York up, 2-0.
