Late Heroics Net Angels 4-3 Win
|
The Los Angeles Angels took Scott Barrett's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The final score had Los Angeles getting past the Devil Rays, 4-3, in 14 innings. Barrett over 5.1 innings allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 4. Reliever Ryan Kearney picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Ignacio Montano took the loss. Los Angeles currently is in third place in the AL West Division at 74-76.
The decisive blow was delivered by Jack E Wilson in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Ignacio Montano to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.
"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Angels manager Kadin D.
