Davis K's 10 En Route to 2-0 Twins Win
|
Jacobs Field was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
Minnesota picked up a win at Jacobs Field, bumping off the Cleveland Guardians, 2-0. Pitcher Wade Davis was a major reason the Twins emerged victorious. Chris Honsa, credited with the save, is now 20 for 24 in save opportunities.
Davis, a native of Lake Wales, Florida, was dealing all game. He kept Cleveland hitters off-balance, while giving the Twins 7 quality innings. Davis threw 115 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 10.
"Wade did a good job mixing and matching," said Minnesota manager Chris S.
The Twins, at 66-84, inhabit last place in the AL Central Division.
