Rockies Suffer 7-4 Road Loss
|
Justin Morneau was instrumental in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Colorado Rockies. The first baseman was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Montreal Expos. David Gooda was the winner. He's now 6-10. The loser was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Brad Farizo. Mick Fieldbinder, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 22nd save.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Morneau hit a run-scoring single off Brad Farizo. It propelled the Expos into the lead, 4-3.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Montreal manager Chris S.
The Expos go to 51-79 with the win.
