Phillies Run Win Streak to 8

The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Shea Stadium, taking down the New York Mets, 5-2. Starting pitcher Preston Larrison was a big reason why. Larrison got the win, improving to 13-11. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Philadelphia has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Pablo Sandoval to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
In postgame comments to the Philadelphia Herald, Sandoval said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
