Rangers Pitching Ravaged by Hamilton
The Oakland Athletics stopped the Texas Rangers by a score of 13-5 at Ameriquest Field in Arlington, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Josh Hamilton. The 26-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Hamilton said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Hamilton did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Rangers.

"Not much that I can say," offered Texas manager Jeff A. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Josh Hamilton hit a solo-shot off Brad Penny in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Brad Penny in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.

For the season, Hamilton has produced 121 hits in 446 at-bats for a .271 average with 18 home runs and gotten on base at a .307 clip.
