Contreras, Orioles Romp Over Astros, 11-3
|
The Baltimore Orioles had no problem beating the Houston Astros, 11-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Sergio Contreras, the 42nd overall pick in the 1998 draft, led the onslaught. He was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times for Baltimore. Baltimore is last in the AL East Division with a record of 22-41.
Nelson Rodriguez cracked a home run off Kevin Appier in the bottom of the third. His 3-run blast put the Orioles on top, 4-2. In all, Rodriguez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Rodriguez after the game.
