Luke Putkonen had an impressive outing at Alliant Energy Field, hurling the Kane County Cougars to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Clinton LumberKings.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Clinton skipper Jim Kern said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the right-handed Putkonen yielded 2 hits and tallied 7 strikeouts with 1 walk.
