Montreal Expos starter Willie Martinez led his team to victory over the Houston Astros, 4-0. The right-hander was locked-in. Josmir Romero was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Expos.
With Montreal leading 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Mercedes Ervilhosa hit a run-scoring single off Houston pitcher Kevin Appier. It put the Expos ahead 2-0.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Martinez told the Montreal Gazette.
