Nunez Spins No-Hitter
|
It was a fantastic day for Bakersfield Blaze starter Francisco Nunez and a lousy day for the San Jose Giants.
The Bakersfield hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Giants, as the Blaze cruised to a 4-0 win. When it was all over, Nunez was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Nunez said later.
He rang up 8 strikeouts and allowed 4 walks while shutting San Jose down at Sam Lynn Ball Park.
