The Chicago White Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, 9-1, at U.S. Cellular Field. Chicago designated hitter Emanuel Ariola had a superb performance. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The slumping Devil Rays have lost 6 straight.

With Chicago leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Ariola hit a fastball from Kevin McGerry for a grand slam home run. It was his 13th home run of the season and put the White Sox ahead, 5-0.

"I really like what we did out there today," Ariola said after the game.
