Devil Rays Get 3-2 Win Versus Florida
Starting pitcher Ray Clark gave the Tampa Bay Devil Rays a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Florida Marlins, 3-2, at Tropicana Field. Paul Shuey was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Tampa Bay, at 18-26, occupies last place in the AL East Division.

Tampa Bay took the lead, 3-1, on John Mayberry Jr.'s 2nd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Mayberry Jr. hit in the bottom of the seventh, made Florida pitcher Hiroyuki Toba wince.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Tampa Bay manager Brenton S.
