Rangers Trip Mariners, 5-1
|
Texas Rangers pitcher Shigeki Noguchi was in fine form, leading his team past the Seattle Mariners, 5-1. Texas, at 16-20, holds down third place in the AL West Division.
Texas used a clutch at-bat from Andre Ethier to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rangers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Texas manager Jeff A.
