Oakland Sent Home with 8-2 Loss
|
New York turned a good effort from starter J.A. Happ into a win over the Oakland Athletics at Yankee Stadium. The final score was 8-2. Troy Percival nailed down his 1st save. The loss drops Oakland to 13-18.
In the bottom of the sixth, New York right fielder Juan Encarnacion put his team on top. With two out and the bases loaded, he hit his 2nd home run of the year. Oakland pitcher Martin Mainville served it up. Just like that, the Yankees were ahead, 4-1.
Happ called the win "a team effort."
