Big Day for Patterson: Swats 5 Hits
|
Eric Patterson was at the head of a Syracuse hit parade at Victory Field. The second baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the SkyChiefs to a nice 19-3 victory over the Indianapolis Indians.
"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Patterson told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."
Indians skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate."
"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
Eric Patterson hit a two-run single in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
So far this year, Patterson has hit .226 with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
