Los Angeles Makes It 13 Straight with 9-7 Win
The Oakland Athletics could not turn a fine performance from shortstop Julio Gomez into a win. Instead, the Los Angeles Angels prevailed, 9-7. Gomez was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Los Angeles reliever Heath Castle picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alex Amezquita took the loss. The Angels raised their record to 23-5.

Los Angeles got a knockout punch from Andrew McCutchen. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I like the roll we're on right now," said McCutchen after the game.
