Suzuki Socks It to Red Wings, Cracks 5 Hits
|
Kurt Suzuki of the Norfolk Tides went on a hitting spree against the Rochester Red Wings pitching staff, racking up 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but to no avail -- the Red Wings put a damper on his day and prevailed, 7-6, over the Tides.
"It was a heck of a day and I was kind of looking forward to a better ending than that," he said later.
Kurt Suzuki grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th.
Looking at his stats this year, Suzuki has compiled a .280 batting average, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 36 runs. He has played in 46 games and scored 29 runs.
