5-4 Loss to Brewers Extends St. Louis Losing Streak
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder David Newhan, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-4. Newhan went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Brewers. Glen Perkins picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-1 on the season. He struck out 2 and walked 6 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Now 16-5, the 2004 Brewers have been sensational so far.
Early in the game, Newhan had a 2-run home run for Milwaukee. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Brewers on top, 2-0.
"I like the roll we're on right now," said Newhan after the game.
