Marlins Win at Washington, 6-3
|
The inspired effort of Washington catcher Dioner Navarro was not enough to prevent a loss, 6-3, to the Florida Marlins. Navarro was 1 for 2 with a triple and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Florida has now won 5 in a row.
Miguel Cabrera, who finished 2nd in the NL in doubles with 58 last year, helped out the Florida cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman went 2-5 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Cabrera.
