Cubs Rally to Win
|
The Chicago Cubs, despite a fine performance by San Diego pitcher Carlos Zambrano, grabbed a 2-1 win in 10 innings at Wrigley Field. Zambrano allowed 1 run over 8 innings. For the Padres, the loss makes their record 5-9.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Chicago. That's when Tydus Meadows, who is tied for 10th in the NL in runs scored with 12, hit a solo home run off Luis Macias to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Chicago skipper Sebastien H.
