Thames Hits 2 home runs in Guardians Win
The Cleveland Guardians topped the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5, at Jacobs Field. Cleveland right fielder Marcus Thames was a spark plug for the offense. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Joe Grahe recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 21 for 23. The last-place Guardians now have a record of 56-76.

Thames contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Cleveland in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Thames took a fastball from Robert Stiehl and stroked the home run to right-center. His 22nd home run of the season allowed the Guardians to leap in front, 6-4.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Thames, "one at-bat at a time."
