Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the San Francisco Giants were eager to watch Heath Timmerman square off against Johan Santana of the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. In the end, the Dodgers won the game, 8-5, with Johan Santana leading the way.

Los Angeles used the hitting of Ryan Klesko to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Dodgers on top, 3-0. For the game, Klesko had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
